Alexei Ponikarovsky has agreed to join the Los Angeles Kings in a 1-year, $3 million deal which includes a $500k raise on base salary and a $200k signing bonus.
Alexei Ponikarovsky's Biography
Alexei Ponikarovsky was born April 9, 1980 in Kiev, Ukraine and is a professional ice hockey forward in the NHL.
Since 1998 he has played left wing for the Toronto Maple Leafs and their former AHL affiliate, the St, Johns Maple Leafs. Prior to being drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1998, Alexei Ponikarovsky played for the Dynamo Moscow, one of the premier clubs in the Soviet Union.
Alexei's nickname is "Poni" and Alexei played with the Maple Leafs for 8 years and was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins on March 2 2010. In return, the Maple Leafs received prospect player Luca Caputi.
